We Take care of orphaned children in Malawi to give them love, education and hope

Story

Smile Malawi suffered a dreadful blow this week when our wonderful son Elijah Daniel (24) suddenly passed away after collapsing at college where he was training to be a doctor. Elijah had fought hard all his life, overcoming heart disease and TB, with our help and was now achieving his dream of practicing medicine and helping the poor people in his country.

We are all devastated but know that he will continue to be an inspiration to his brothers and sisters at Smile Malawi and he will live on in their achievements in the future.

We decided that it would be wonderful to raise an education fund in his memory so that others can also go on to university or college as they grow up. Elijah was being funded by a very generous sponsor who is part of the Smile Malawi family in the UK but this fund will mean that more children will also have the opportunity.

Secondary and Tertiary education is very expensive in Malawi so our target has been set high but every pound counts so please give what you can afford.

If you would like to read more of Elijah's amazing story we still have copies of our book 'Only Love Will Do' available at £10 - please email enquiries@smilemalawi.com to order one. The book tells the whole story of Smile Malawi from 2004 and Elijah is the subject of 2 chapters which shows just how important he was to us.
