My name is Emily, i am a regular visitor at GOSH.  I am tested for a hereditary heart condition, Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy. At one of my appointments they discovered a flap of skin over my artery, (Mr fleggy) totally unrelated to heart condition. At 1st we were all quite happy with him living there, until my next appointment my heart had swollen. So the decission was made, i was to have open heart surgery. Although the operation was not fun, i haven't suffered, i felt no pain whatsoever. Being a regular at GOSH makes me realise how lucky i am, I complain less and appreciate more!

No words can ever thank the amazing Dr's who saved my life, the nurses who discovered Mr Fleggy, the lagoon staff who fed my mum, (avoid the chicken kiev)the cleaners who kept my room clean, the volunteers who are always smiling. They are all the best of the best. So instead of saying thank you our way of giving back is to raise money for this amazing hospital.x.

My mission is to raise as much as i can for a new ECG machine which costs £6000, as the ones they are using are getting old now.x.

We will be holding raffles throughout the year, selling items we have made and been donated at craft fairs and festivals. We will be organising various eventsx. Craft fairs for different seasons and even afternoon tea for Mothers day.x.

A special thank you to :-

1)all staff on Walrus ward my favourite is Chloe, she is so gentle, i didn't feel a thing when she took my blood test. You also came to visit me when i had my operation.x.

2)all the staff on the flamingo ward, my fabulous and favourite nurse Michael who took such good care of me and my neighbour baby Alice, i heard him singing to her! He was so caring and kind, he gave me strength when i felt rubbish

3) Nina from bear ward, she was such an inspiration, Nina was so positive and always smiling, and was always saying encouraging me with such lovely comments. When i didnt want to eat anything she went and got me a trayful of food to make sure there was something i liked (im very fussy!)

4) The gentle giant Professor Jan! (Yan?) he came down when i asked for him, i know he is a very busy man!!! An absolute legend of a man.And not forgeting my Doctor, Dr Kaski, he is always telling me how great i am doing, which is always nice to hear, he is always so happy.x.

5) I can not leave out my favurite Dr Kaski who is always so kind and supportive, he is always smiling and happy to see me.x.
