This Great North Run is my first and I'm very much starting from scratch - fitness level of a sausage. I have enrolled the help of an amazing social running group, the Silky Striders, along with my fitness friends and family who are all supporting me and cheering me on.

I became involved with Durham Wildlife Trust in May 2016 (when they employed me!) and get to see firsthand the outstanding work that is done in our local patch for Wildlife. 

No one does more for habitat conservation and wildlife education from Tees to Tyne. I'm very proud to be part of an organisation that does so much with the money it receives. Every £1 donated generates £5.32 for local nature conservation. I'd be thrilled if I can hit my fundraising target for them.
