Story

Hi Guys thankyou for taking the time to read this..

My best friend Dave Wood, has very kindly offered to run the Potteries half Marathon, to raise money for a fantastic Charity. The North Staffs Special Adventure Playground.

Dave is currently in training and will be running just under 13 miles on June 13th 2010 in his special James Bond outfit, (lets hope the knickers dont chafe too much ) to help raise money for the Playground.

For all my friends who are unaware, I have a sister Amy, who has multiple health problems, She is 23 and was born with Downs Syndrome and has Diabetes and a chronic chest condition.
She has been going to the adventure playground since she was 4 years old. It truly is a remarkable place, for the past 20 years, Amy has enjoyed all the facities the playground has to offer, from the 3 storey soft play structure, the playroom where she has taken part in many different activities to the outside area, fantastic for riding bikes and generally having a great time. Now that Amy is older, she attends the playground every Friday evening for Senior Club, which includes a monthly disco. Due to limitations caused by her health and society, this is a wonderful place, where she can meet up with her friends, chat, play games and socialise.

The Playground isnt only a great place for children and young adults with special needs, it also provides respite clubs, that means the parents can get a much needed break while there children have fun.

This is such a special place and every donation , no matter how small can make a huge difference to the children and parents who go there.. Please donate....

Many thanks Emma xx

PLEASE NOTE IT IS MY BEST FRIEND DAVE WOOD WHO IS RUNNING THE MARATHON NOT MYSELF...
