Story
On 31 January 2017, I was part of a team of five women who travelled to Ethiopia to trek in the remote northern region of the country for just over two weeks. We walked up to eight hours a day, often in challenging conditions, and stayed in local village community guest houses as part of a initiative which allows poor rural communities to benefit directly from tourism.
Every penny I raise in sponsorship will go towards helping disabled and disadvantaged youngsters to go on their 'journey of a lifetime' thanks to the JoLt Trust. Every two years this charity takes a group of 14-18 year olds on a month-long expedition designed to challenge and test them at a pivotal point in their personal development.
My dad was a JoLt expedition leader and when he died I became a trustee of this amazing charity run entirely by volunteers. Through my communications work with JoLt I have come across many young people whose lives have been changed for the better. Please help us to continue this great work. It takes over £4,000 to take each youngster on an expedition and we are already planning for 2018.
