We We create opportunities to improve the lives of local people

Story

The Blackfriars Settlement is a fantastic charity that supports people in the local community with physical and mental illnesses. With other people in my team at work, we're trying to raise a total of £5000 for them.

I'm choosing to contribute by running a 10k on July 1st at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

As some of you will know, I used to run and completed a marathon in 2013, but had to stop when I suffered an injury that led to arthritis and nerve damage. I've only been able to start up running again very recently so a 10k is a really big step (excuse the pun) for me.

Please donate if you can! And don't forget to Gift Aid the tax :)

About the charity

Founded as the Women's University Settlement in 1887, it aims to create opportunities for local people in the area of North Southwark and Waterloo to achieve their social and economic potential by delivering community services that are inclusive, accessible to people who feel marginalised and are free or subsidised.
