We deliver HIV education through football to create lasting change for young Africans

Story

We're back!

Last year’s Football Marathon was the most successful to date:  Football Marathon 2009 featured over 400 players and raised over £120,000.  We’re hoping to beat last year’s fundraising total this year – something we’ve managed to do in each of the previous eight years of running the Football Marathon.

As before, we will be raising money for Tackle Africa, a charity that uses football to reach young people in  and raise their awareness and understanding of HIV/AIDS to help them live safe and healthy lives.  More details can be found on their website: http://www.tackleafrica.org

Once again, we will be playing 6-a-side football for 12 hours.  Each player will run roughly 30 miles (50 km), that's more than marathon.

Our team’s target this year is to raise over £2,500.  (Please remember to Gift Aid your donation as this will raise almost a third more at no extra cost).

Please come down and support us on the day too – the event takes place on Saturday, August 7th (from 8am until 8pm) and we will be in the main part of Clapham Common near Clapham Common Tube station.

Many thanks for your generous support!
