South Carolina First Steps to School Readiness is the state’s comprehensive early childhood education initiative. Theye exist to help South Carolina’s children be ready for school success.

Since their nception in 1999, First Steps has helped hundreds of thousands of young children prepare for school through programs that provide early intervention, strengthen families, improve children’s health and well-being, increase the quality of early care and education, and help transition rising kindergarteners into school. 

Donations give us a chance to expand a child's library and imagination with a variety of age-appropriate books; provide diapers and wipes for families struggling to make ends meet; and most importantly create peace of mind in households across Darlington County. You can make a difference, today!
