My daughters and I are doing a 20 mile walk across London this weekend to raise awareness on the condition Endometriosis.

I my daughter Annie Rose was diagnosed with Endometriosis this year (luckily her case so far, isn’t as severe as it could be) Since working to manage the side effects of the condition and learning more about the diagnosis, it is clear there is still a lack of scientific understanding which needs to be funded. There is no clear cause or cure yet. 1 in 10 women are effected by the disease and on average it takes up to 7 years to diagnose. It affects many aspects of your life, not only physically but mentally too.

Endometriosis is a condition where the cells similar to the lining of the uterus are growing outside of the womb in other organs. Responding to the monthly hormonal cycle, these cells react the same way as the cells in the lining of the uterus, breaking down and bleeding.
However, this shedding is unable to be expelled during menstruation, causing inflammation severe pain and forming adhesion's (scar tissue). In some cases, if left undetected and untreated it can cause the organs to stick together, dangerous cysts that can rupture and infertility. 

I feel passionately about helping fund the research to improve diagnosis and treatment of this lifelong condition and raise awareness!
