Story
It`s a New Year and a new challenge! This year I am running in the Virgin London Marathon on April 25th , Newry City Marathon on May 31st and the Mourne Way Marathon on 12th June. Why? Because I`m bonkers and to raise as much money as possible for the locally based charity " Action MS ".
Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is a condition of the central nervous system. It is the most common disabling neurological disease among young adults and affects around 100,000 people in the UK. Action MS is the leading multiple sclerosis charity in Northern Ireland providing practical support for individuals and families. As yet there is no cure for multiple sclerosis. Action MS provides a range of support services including counselling, Medicare breaks, focus groups for young people and help for young children when a parent is diagnosed with MS.
Having witnessed a close friend Ivan experience the devastating effects of this incurable disease I have taken on the challenge of participating in these 3 marathons. Ivan had planned to run these too but unfortunately an aggressive relapse in December has prevented him from doing so. In his absence I am asking for your support so please give generously.
