Story

Well, we did it!!! Congratulations to all who took part. Everyone finished, and should be rightly proud at having helped raise so much for such a worthy cause.

Most people were in one piece at the end, but I know Des had a fall at the bottom of one hill, which must have been serious as it stopped him joining us at the Pub afterwards.

Thank you to everyone who took part.

Iain.

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page raising funds for Macmillan Cancer Support in memory of Dave Marshall.

Updates 19th August.

This update we welcome Sue and Joanne Marshall  who have signed up to do the 25mile MacRide. This ride starts from the same place, slightly later on the same day.

Once again, thanks to everyone who has donated. You've all helped a really worthwhile cause.

Iain

Dave sadly passed away in June this year after a brief battle against a vicious brain tumor. To do something positive from such a cruel turn of events, a few cyclists who knew him will be riding the Shakespeare 100 Cyclosportive from Stratford on September 12th 2010

So far joined in we have: Iain Suffield, Mike Veal, Roger Clay, Ashley Gillibrand, Andy McQueen, Jon Darlington,  Jon Touhig, Tim Robinson, Pete Webster, Jon Wilde and Ben Lineton riding the 100 miles; Derek Fraser riding the 100Km and Sue and Joanne Marshall riding the 25mile MacRide.

The ride is 100 miles though South Warwickshire and the Costwolds. Exactly the sort of thing Dave would have enjoyed doing. If you would like to ride with us and help raise funds, please sign up for the Shakespeare 100 here:   http://www.shakespeare100.org.uk and let me know (ISUFFIEL@JaguarLandRover.com) and I'll add your name to this page.

Alternatively, there is a MacRide running on the same day, with a choice of 10, 25 or 63 miles http://www.macride.org.uk .If you would like to take part and use this JustGiving page in Memory of Dave, that would be great. I'll add your names to the team list above, but I'll be off on the 100 before that ride starts...

If you don't fancy the ride, please sponsor us and help raise funds for a very worthwhile charity.

Updates 2nd August.

Ben Lineton has agreed to join our team for the 100 miles. Ben and Dave rode the Spires and Squires together this year, very shortly before Dave was diagnosed. It's an honour and pleasure to have him join us.

Once again, thanks to everyone who has donated. You've all helped a really worthwhile cause. I've grouped all the other updates at the bottom of the page.

!**! Updated 29 July !**!

We've all been hugely humbled by the massive response of everyone so far. We have a new rider, Jon Wilde, and the possibility of teams in both the 100Km and 100 Miles.

We are on training rides Tuesday nights and Sunday mornings, which are going well. Let me know if you'd like to join us at the usual email address.

Really, Thank You to absolutely everyone.

Iain

!! Updated 09July !!

Many thanks to all those who have sponsered us so far! You've all been really generous. Thank you.

We also have a load of riders coming with us, which is a great tribute to Daves positive influence. So far, we're targetting  the 100 mile event, but if thats a bit much, I'll draw your attention to the MacRide which is running on the same day. Still in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support, but with a choice of 10, 25 or 63 miles, and only a tenner to enter.

Thanks, Iain.
