After a very successful career in flat racing Tyrone Williams suffered a life changing stroke. He longed to get back on a horse and his friend and carer Jerry introduced him to me at Lambourn RDA. I had the privilege of being one of his coaches during his time with our Group. He learnt to ride in a very different way to his previous career and was successful in two dressage competitions. He was selected as one of the 50 faces of RDA UK as they celebrated their 50th Anniversary in 2019. He was determined to do a Fire walk to raise money for Lambourn Group, and even sneaked in a cheeky practice.  I foolishly said that I would do it with him and Jerry. Our first attempt was thwarted in May 2020 by the onset of the pandemic, as was the second. The third attempt was booked for May this year but tragically Tyrone suffered another massive stroke and passed away in early May. Tyrone never lost his love of horses and riding, and his empathy with his horse, competitive spirit and wonderful sense of humour carried him through a determination to do what he loved. He had just started to relearn how to trot when he was cruelly taken from us. This is for him, so please support me as I try to raise much needed funds so that others can enjoy riding with our Group as much as he did.
