After years of saying I would never run a marathon, lo and behold, on 2nd October this year I will be running the London Marathon to raise money for World Child Cancer.
World Child Cancer improves cancer care for some of the world’s poorest children by creating international partnerships between medics, hospitals, and parent support groups. Most childhood cancers are curable - survival rates in the UK, USA and Europe regularly top 80%. However, for children in low and middle-income countries, the prognosis is bleak. Fewer than 1 in 10 children with cancer in low- and middle-income countries are diagnosed, treated, or given pain relief. With their chance of survival falling as low as 10%, thousands of young lives are lost to cancer every single day. To learn more about the amazing work World Child Cancer do, please visit their website:

Any donations would be really appreciated and will help give children with cancer the chance of a future, and contribute to levelling the disparity of cancer care for children across the world
World Child Cancer are a chosen Aid Match charity this year, so anything donated before the 4th of July 2022 will be doubled by the UK government!
Here is an idea of what your donation could do:
- £5 - could provide a week's worth of pain relief medication for a child with a life-limiting condition in Bangladesh
- £30 - can pay for a balanced, nutritious meal for 10 children with cancer in Nepal
- £100 - could support accurate diagnosis for 5 children with cancer in Cameroon
- £750 -could cover the cost of radiotherapy treatment for a child with cancer in Ghana.
- £2,000 - covers specialised training for eight doctors or nurses caring for children with cancer in them Philippines.
