It is exactly one year to the day, Friday 21st February, that i suffered cardiac arrest whilst at home lying in my own bed. 

An extremely frightening and painful experience that god willing, i will never have to experience again. Thankfully, due to the quick thinking on that particular night of my wife and to the expert care i received in Daisy Hill, The Royal Victoria and Craigavon Area Hospitals, I am still here to tell the story and attempt to raise some much needed funds for Northern Ireland Chest Heart & Stroke. 

Each day that has passed since i suffered my heart attack, i have felt a great deal of gratitude and a burning desire that i MUST give something back as a massive thank you to those who cared for me whilst in my hospital bed and to the amazing rehabilitation team who helped me cope both mentally and physically and ultimately get my life back on track and heading in a positive direction. 

There are thousands of charities that are in dire and constant need of funding and touch so many people's lives every day, Northern Ireland Chest Heart & Stroke are one of these. In particular the rehabilitation team, whose government funding has been cut to a degree were rehabilitation classes are being stopped. I cannot sit back and let this happen, in my opinion the after care is just as important if not more important than the initial care.
