We assist with the wellbeing of Veterans to help integrate them into civilian life.

Story

During WW2 in Occupied Northern France, many of our armed forces found themselves cut off behind enemy lines. They were either captured or killed, unless they were lucky enough to find the French Resistance who could help them to escape to Southern France and then over the Pyrenees to neutral Spain. Some 36,000 civilian refugees and military veterans made this 40 mile journey to safety with great risk to the resistance and their own families.

This September we Followed the same route of those service personnel who managed to escape from the claws of the Third Reich (fully funded with our own money) in aid of Care after Combat. This exceptional charity is dedicated to integrating our present day servicemen and women back into society.

Without the right support to reintegrate into civilian life, many of our hero’s are turning to substance abuse, alcohol, crime or a combination of all three. The money raised for Care after Combat will be used to prevent this from happening by maintaining and promoting camaraderie in the Veterans community and providing professional assistance at the point of need.

On August the 26th I took part in the Ellesmere 10k Road Race  in support of Care Afrer Combat. I tabbed  it with 35lb + water (16kg) on my back and had a good  time considering the weather, thank you for your donations.

For the last event for 2018 I’m hoping to complete the Longmynd 50 which is 50 miles of hilly terrain which rises to approximately 3000ft in total where half the course will be under darkness. I’ve done it before but not always completed it, this time I will be wearing a heavy Bergen to raise awareness for our charity and with your support am hoping to complete my final challenge of the year

Thanks to everyone who’s donated so far and to those who supported us at the Oswestry Food & Drink Festival.
