Story

Well done team, we all managed to climb the Three Peaks in 24 hours!  What a great weekend - even the horrendous weather couldn't stop us!

We are a group of Dads who have a weekly "meeting" each Wednesday in the Bird in Hand pub and after several beverages it was decided we would take up the Three Peaks Challenge.  One of our Dads (Steve Docking) is the Headteacher at Delamere CE Primary and was recently affected by the death of one of his pupils - Lydia Wilson.  Throughout her illness, Lydia and her family were supported and helped by a local Children's Hospice - Claire House in Bebington on the Wirral.  As Dads we felt that Claire House would be a wonderful charity to raise much needed funds for…

Lydia's story

Lydia Wilson was an exceptional pupil at Delamere CE Primary School. She started with us in September 2007 with her twin sister Naomi; tragically was diagnosed with an Astrocytoma an accurate brain tumour which ultimately cost her young life. battled the tumour for the best part of two years and in her time at school she was loved by all and brought us a great many fond memories. During this time in her life the support from Claire House was immeasurable for both and her family. Her family are well on the way to raising a considerable amount of money which they will donate to Claire House at the end of the year. At school we loved the calendar!! At ’s funeral, the love that Claire House showed her family was quite special and to make an event that was so tragic into one of celebration takes tremendous courage and skill.

Unfortunately Lydia was not the only child Claire House supported, therefore your donations will be graciously received and if you are eligible, please don't forget to tick the Gift Aid box! - Thank You
