Story

In July 2017 Newcastle and Sunderland fans were united in grief for the loss of 6 year old Sunderland fan Bradley Lowery. Bradley lost his cruel battle against Neuroblastoma bringing the entire North East region together.

2 sets of fans from both sides set about organising a charity match to raise funds in his honour, these 2 groups of opposing lads had never even met each other prior to this.. Then, an amazing event called Geordies V Mackem's 7 a side Bradley Lowery Trophy took place on December 17th 2017, and over £7000 was raised by these fantastic bunch of lads and their supporters .

This money was donated to the Bradley Lowery Foundations Child Of The Month in December who was a little girl from London called Isla Caton.

This is where the North East/London love affair began.

Us Geordies and Mackems have followed and supported Islas journey ever since and after some of our lads were recently invited to play against ex West Ham pros and other celebrities, we decided we wanted to do something again..

Gaz Horsley (NUFC) and Dylan Bregman (WUFC) put their heads together and come up with the idea of fans from bitter North-East rivals Newcastle and Sunderland teaming up together and playing also bitter rivals West Ham and Millwall supporters in an 11 a side match proving the theory that Cancer Has No Colours.

Gaz organises an annual charity match so has 19 sound lads from Newcastle and Sunderland who will break down into a squad of 16 for this fixture, 8 Geordies and 8 Mackems will wear neutral colours for this event and support Islas Journey through sponsorship. Geordie Gaz will bring 7 of his finest men and David Bygate-Pittiglio will complete the 16 with 7 of his finest mackem men for this amazing fixture

Dylan Begram will choose 7 more West Ham supporters and Jamie Pearce will select 7 more supporters from Millwall to also wear neutral colours  to make a mixed squad of 16 supporters and also be supporting Islas journey through sponsorship.

A total of 32 supporters from these 4 teams Newcastle, Sunderland, West ham and Millwall will make this event one to remember.

This amazing fixture will take place at Aveley FC in London on August 26th at 3pm. The Chairman Craig Johnson  has kindly agreed to let us use the pitch and facilities to help Islas cause so BIG THANKS to him for this.

A rapidly growing North East local company Trade Cars Newcastle from Brinkburn Street in Newcastles East end have kindly stepped in to support and kit sponsor the North East lads who will be wearing neutral strip colours of white with a black and red stripe.

All proceeds will go towards getting Isla that little bit closer to America for the life saving treatment she desperately needs.
