We fight animal cruelty around the world to keep all animals safe and happy

Story

There is a good saying “If you think you can’t, you won’t. If you think you can, you will!”

I repeat this saying to myself every day since I signed up to take part in my most demanding challenge to date, the “Run to the Beat” Half Marathon being held in London on the 26th of September 2010.

All those who know me, know well that I am passionate about animals, this is why I have chosen to run for a charity close to my heart... World Society for the Protection of Animals (WSPA)

WSPA work incredibly hard to prevent cruelty to animals in many different ways,  from rescuing bears from a life of misery from baiting, dancing and the sickening practice of being farmed for their body parts for the sake of "Traditional Chinese Medicine" to saving the Orangatuns in Borneo.

2 particular areas that make me incredibly sad is the suffering of working horses, ponies and donkies and factory farming of dogs for the meat trade. It’s heartbreaking, but I encourage you to visit the WSPA site which highlights the plight of these loyal, suffering animals.

So this is a plea to help me reach my target of £500.. Every pound really does count and knowing that I will have the support of my friends, family and colleagues will spur me on to finish this race.

Thank you!
