Not as popular as our appeals for our wonderful children but essential to our operation.

Our Kokrobite Volunteer Guest House is home to our Nursery with the needs of 80+ children and support staff and provides good quality safe and secure accommodation for our volunteers.  After a day in the field it is essential that we provide a comfortable "home" with familiar facilities. 

The local external power supply is restricted and day long planned outages are common. The external overhead network is also vulnerable to the extreme weather conditions during the rainy season.

At the moment we rely on our inherited "oldie but Goldie" very small Honda portable generator plugged in to give very limited back up. It has served us very well with limited maintenance but is not adequate to meet much more than lighting and a kettle. The connecting cables are under sized and must be replaced. The whole thing needs to be upgraded.

To do the job properly will need around £3000. This includes the purchase of a modern "silent" diesel generator with cabling and modifications to the housing. I will go out to Ghana to do the job myself with the help of our younger and fitter local talent, of course.
