Story
I have worked for Sutherland House School, Autism East Midlands for 12 years - lots has changed over this time but the one thing that remains constant is how remarkable all our young people are! When I started I did not have much knowledge of autism but what i did have did not match the reality - our students are funny and kind and courageous and just a little bit cheeky at times!
At the beginning I said I would never be cross with my 3 boys ever again because compared to life for parents of a child with autism mine was a piece of cake - I can honestly say I haven't stuck to the 'not being cross' but I do still appreciate how simple my life is!
So I thought it was time that I try to raise a little money and more awareness for all our remarkable students and their parents so off to walk the Hebridean Way I go with my trusty map reader (husband) and two Jack Russells and a tent 😳 - anyone that knows me will know the tent bit will not be my idea of fun!!!
So please keep my spirits up by donating if you can.
