Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As you may be aware, the Friends of Brighton & Hove Hospitals is close to my heart as I am the Chairman of the charity. I am delighted to be joining a team of over twenty brave (or just daft) people taking part in a 162m drop from the i360 pod to the ground below. I'm hoping to take in some breathtaking views of the city and get a birdseye view of the amazing new Royal Sussex County Hospital.

I have personally been on the receiving end of fantastic care from the NHS, having had a quadruple heart bypass not long ago. I can't imagine that there are many people in the city who haven't benefited from treatment at our local hospitals in some way or another. As a charity, our aim is to improve patient experience by funding additional services and equipment. All money raised will go back into improving our local healthcare services which we all depend on. As the recent pandemic has shown, we've never needed our NHS more than now and hospitals need our support more than ever.

The Friends of Brighton & Hove Hospitals is one of the oldest charities in the city and has been supporting our local hospitals since not long after the NHS was formed in 1948. The charity's mission is to improve patient experience by funding equipment and services that aid well-being and improve recovery speed.

An excellent example of this is our Small Acts of Friendship programme which has helped thousands of patients on the elderly care wards at RSCH. We are now fundraising to extend the programme to incorporate mental health and end of life care as well - helping patients to retain mobility, social activity and dignity.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
