Event: Gordons Great Big Virtual Walk
We think Age UK Bradford District are doing fabulous work. As our Charity of the Year we are aiming to raise enough money for them to create an Area Impact Team to support an additional 750 people and enable positive and long term change.

Story

While Britain might be leaving the EU on 31 January, 92 of us will be taking on an intrepid virtual walking race across Europe while raising money for our charity of the year, Age UK Bradford District. The exact route will reveal itself on an app as we walk but, to give some context, the distance is roughly equivalent to walking from the southwestern tip of Portugal to St Petersburg in Russia.

Over a period of 5 weeks, each team will have to walk 6,925,895 steps or, to paraphrase The Proclaimers, they will walk 500 miles and they will walk 500 more, and they will walk 500 more and they will walk 500 more, and they will walk 500 more.

This is by no means an easy challenge and every team member will have to push themselves on a daily basis to get their number of steps up and help their team in the race to the finish line. Everyone involved will have to do what they can to walk that little but further each day. Please show your support by sponsoring us to achieve our target of £3,000 for our charity of the year, Age UK Bradford District.
