Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am taking part in the National 3 Peaks Challenge on Sat 7th August 2010 with 6 friends to raise money for Meningitis UK. The National 3 Peaks Challenge involves climbing Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowden in under 24 hours.
Meningitis UK is close to my heart as my daughter Grace was diagnosed with Bacterial Meningitis at just 9 weeks old. Luckily we caught it early, and despite being very poorly for 2 weeks, Grace made a full recovery. Grace is now a very active and noisy two year old (see recent photo above).
Many families are not as lucky as we were, this is why I am keen to raise as much money as possible and support this charity. See www.meningitisuk.org for more information about the charity.
More about the Challenge
The distance walked is around 25 miles, the height climbed is around 10,000 feet, and the distance to be covered between the mountains is some 450 miles, which will be done via car/minibus.
