On the 7th September Daniel & I are running the Mini Great North Run and the Great North Run to raise money for The Sick Children's Trust as our family was wonderfully looked after when we stayed in their Crawford House Residence in Newcastle.

Our 4 week old daughter Lucy had had massive heart failure and was flown to the Freeman in Newcastle for ECMO treatment. After recovering from heart failure her kidneys didn't start working again and she needed very specialised dialysis only available in the RVI in Newcastle and so we remained there for 8 months until she was at a weight that she could return to Northern Ireland for regular Haemo-Dialysis and she is now doing brilliantly.

Throughout our stay as a family we lived in Crawford house and were amazingly looked after by the great staff there. It gave us a home from home and we made a lot of great friends that helped us through tough times.

Daniel who has just turned 4 will be running in the Mini Great North Run and I will be running in the full Great North Run, we are both really looking forward to it!
