Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page for #GuysBigSleepout !
For one night only on November 15th- November 16th, I will be sleeping rough in Hove, exposed to the elements with nothing more than warm clothing, a sleeping bag and a cardboard box to protect me from the elements. Why? Because I want to raise money and awareness for Antifreeze, an area of Off The Fence, who work with hundreds of homeless individuals around Brighton & Hove who live like this day in, day out.
While many of us go home to a heated house, hot meal and warm bed at the end of a winter day, hundreds around the City cannot. I want to support the work of Antifreeze who work hard to provide basic survival needs- food, sleeping bags, clothing- as well as offering services at their day centre to help with emotional implications of homelessness and practical solutions to get them off the streets. Last year Antifreeze supported nearly 800 homeless individuals, had their day centre accessed a whopping 7867 times and housed 62 individuals! If my money raised can make a difference to their work then I know it will be something that will have a great impact in the local community.
So please give generously! And remember to check the hashtag #GuysBigSleepout on November 15th 7pm- November 16th 8am!
Thanks,
Guy
