Story
This year, we want to upgrade some of our accommodations and equipment to provide the best care for our patients that come in to the hospital.
This is a long process for us because we rely solely on public donations so we have to wait for the money to trickle in.
Here are some of the important upgrades that we are doing and what your money will 100% be going on.
We need an electrician to place more electrics out on our back field to go to the aviaries and enclosures. We can then link up more heat lamps and ventilation systems that we need which will help the animals feel more comfortable in the cold nights and warm days. We need to expand our water bird pond to make it more duckling friendly. We need more species specific accommodation outside for rabbits and pheasants. We need some more screening for two of our aviaries to keep the birds calmer during their stay.
The money will also go on little bits that help towards the running of the hospital. Things like a washing machine (we go through 2-3 loads a day). A new, more advanced microscope so we can diagnose parasites more efficiently through fecal testing in hedgehogs. A fox trap to rescue foxes. A microchip scanner and microchips to help us keep records of patients released and if we ever see them again.
All of these things help towards a more successful rehabilitation rate.
Thank you for your generosity.
