Story
Thank you so much for supporting the Mental Health Foundation and my quest to run the London 2010 Marathon!
I am very pleased to say that I am on track to run my second Marathon... despite the recent snow and ice! To help me get to London 2010 I ran the Aviemore Half Marathon in October 2009 and since then I have continued to train - mostly (!) - according to my very strict training plan!
Although I still remember the highs and lows of London 2000, I decided it was worth doing again 10 years on. The pain and the blisters are worth it - it's all for a good cause...
Given that 1 in 4 of us will experience a mental health problem in any one year; and 1 in 6 of us are affected by depression at some point in our lives, running a marathon seems a very small gesture if it means raising awareness and support for the Mental Health Foundation!
So yes, I am doing this as a personal self challenge - but I am also doing this for family, friends and patients who have had to battle with depression, dementia, and other mental health issues.
So please dig deep and donate now.
