The Story

Hush Club Night has teamed up with Militant Artists, Recoverworld Label Group and The Muzik Genie to fight one common enemy – CANCER!

It’s a subject that has touched all of our lives recently – as well as millions of clubbers all over the World in one-way or another. We have watched friends, family and loved ones fight this indiscriminate disease. Some battles have been won and sadly some battles have been lost. So we have decided to unite the global dance music community as we RAVE FOR LIFE!!!

Macmillan Cancer Support UK is our chosen cause. Not only do they support sufferers of cancer, they support the people that have to endure the hardest job of all - the carers that have to witness first hand the fall out of the treatment and in many cases the ones that get left behind as their nearest and dearest succumb to the parasitic disease.

The Macmillan medical staff and volunteer's (who are quite often survivors) work tirelessly to help others and we consider them to be unsung heroes.

Over the last 4 years, there have been six people in our lives who have been diagnosed with cancer. Three have received an amazing amount of support from Macmillan and have since gone on to make a full recovery. Sadly two of them are no longer with us. Rest in Peace Jane Bacon and Michelle.

Two of those people who are still with us, have been heavily involved in clubbing for over twenty years and have influenced the scene in one way or another.

Firstly, Hannah aka "The Muzik Genie" aka "Militant Hannah" is a seasoned raver, who began clubbing in the early 90's, at such infamous clubs and events as "World Dance" and "The Rhythm Station". She was a regular at Gatecrasher, Gods Kitchen, Passion and Slinky and has gone to numerous festivals around the World.

She started working for Chris Hampshire and The Recoverworld Label Group in 2014 and has helped to reinvigorate and raise the profile of the group, which includes Discover Records and Discover Dark. She also runs with Militant Artists with Chris - an artists agency that has in 18 months become one of the most respected agencies on the scene.

Having been diagnosed with an aggressive form of Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in early 2015, she underwent intensive chemotherapy and radiotherapy for six months and has just been given the all clear - although she will remain in remission for the next five years.

Secondly, Spacefrogette aka Spacey, is a woman who has had the pleasure of running her own club and used to promote a night called Juice, which took place in venues such as Scala in London. Spacey is an absolute guru of dance music and her favourite club night was and still is Bedrock - with John Digweed being her absolute hero.

Many may not know that Spacey was one of the founders of one of the club scenes first ever chat room boards, clubber.co.uk. Set up in 2000 by Spacey, with the aim of bringing clubbers together through an online forum, where a multitude of random and serious subjects were discussed.

Spacey has just received the news that she has cancer is still waiting to hear when and how her treatment will start. We know that MacMillan will be there for her every step of the way - and together with the support from her friends and clubbing family, she is in safe and caring hands.
The Plan!!

We are launching the first annual “Rave For Life” Fundraiser – by doing something that us clubbers and DJ’s do best – HAVING FUN!!

Part One – We are throwing a free ten-hour party down in Brighton at the famous Volks Night Club. We will be raising cash on the day by having donation buckets and a raffle, which will have prizes donated by the music industry including tickets to events, music memorabilia and club wear. You can see who is playing at the event page, which is here:

https://www.facebook.com/events/200219410336736/

Part Two – Realising that not everyone who wants to be involved will be able to make it down to Brighton, we have created an online raffle – which is also this “Just Giving Page.” We have had some phenomenal prizes donated including:

Alternatively, if you don’t want to be entered in to any of the prizes and you just want to take part and show your support for our cause – put “JUST DONATE”!!
