 One of Andrew's best childhood friends had Ataxia Telangiectasia (A-T), a profoundly disabling condition which limited his life.  His mother founded the charity which we now support.

The condition causes deteriorating coordination and affects the immune system, leading to frequent chest and lung infections and a high risk of leukaemia and other cancers.  Currently there is no cure and children with A-T are unlikely to live beyond their mid 20s.
