Story

On 13 April myself and Dad will take part in the 130km trek to Everest Base Camp at 5,364m. It is an idea we both have had for years and now we are finally turning that idea into a reality.

As the trek is now becoming real, we have been thinking about a charity or worthwhile cause that would be meaningful to myself and Dad - something that would give us further motivation to complete this challenge when the going gets tough. We decided on the Throat Cancer Foundation, as sadly, my grandfather passed away to the disease on the 24 October 1986 at the young age of 59.

Throat cancer remains a massive killer still today yet is a form of cancer that is incredibly underfunded. That means that all donations really can help make a difference and we would greatly appreciate and welcome any donations you want to give, small or large, to support this important cause.

About the charity

We are the only UK foundation who are dedicated and aim to improve throat cancer treatment processes, help to develop better cures, support both patients and medical professionals and educate more people on how to look after their throats to lessen their risk of developing this horrible cancer.
