Story
25/5/14 - Challenge complete !
Wow, Day 1 was the toughest i've ever had on a bike. Cramps for 35 miles, driving wind and rain and flipping cold on top of the moors. "5 miles to Tebay" will live with me forever. Bigland hill - piece of cake ! Thanks to Si and Robin for helping out with the cramps
Day 2 cramps gone but very sore legs.Tan Hill was a toughie, but the afternoon ride was fantastic.
Day 3, most of the day was clear with some bright spells and we actually got to enjoy the scenery. Lashed it down for a spell over the North Yorks moors, but the final ride into Whitby was fantastic. The youth hostel adjoining the abbey is really nice.
Spent 3 days with some fantastic people and really enjoyed their limitless supply of banter. An extra special thankyou to Gaz Turner for inviting me in the first place.

Fiaz was a special person and meant a great deal to many of us.
He helped many of us out in different ways throughout his life and was the kindest, most generous person i knew.
I loved him like a brother, and miss him dearly.
Overgate Hospice is where Fiaz spent his final days. The level of care was second to none, from a highly professional team, who truly understood his needs and those of his family around him.
My bike ride, on Friday 23rd May over three days is a fundraising effort for Overgate, so whether you knew Fiaz directly, are aware of the excellent service that Overgate provide, or just feel sorry for a fat middle aged bloke trekking across the country, please give generously.
You can donate directly here ( preferred option as Just Giving will claim back gift aid from the government ), or let me know if you prefer to pay cash.
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
