We raise funds for head and neck cancer to provide minimally invasive treatment

Story

2023 saw me reach halfway on this challenge completing runs in the London and Chicago marathons, having run the New York marathon at the end of 2022.

Then, in the first week of March 2024, I successfully ran the marathon  in Tokyo, taking my Majors tally to 4, leaving just 2 remaining  Berlin & Boston.

The idea of completing the Abbotts World Marathon Majors, came about as a result of my wish to raise money for Cancer Research charities. Without these charities, the outcome from my throat cancer diagnosis in 2020, and ongoing quality of life since treatment, may have been quite different. Others are not so fortunate, so the research into new, alternative treatment options needs to continue.

Running was also a great mental support during treatment, as well as keeping me fit enough to manage the associated rigours.

The runs have so far, with the support of family, friends and colleagues, helped raise:

£3,500 for Cancer Research UK
£2,090 for Guys Cancer Charity
£2,600 for The Head and Neck Cancer foundation

Including Gift Aid brings the total to around an amazing £10,000.

This is ALL down to you who support me, so I'm truly grateful for the for all you have done, and drives me on so thank you all so much.

Please can you share this page to give it as wide a reach as possible.  If you are able to spare a couple of quid for a good cause, well that would be just great.

Thank you so much!  Take care & Love to All :)
