Helen & Carly are both members of These Girls Can Run, an inclusive and supportive running group based in the North East of England. They are both also Police Officers with Northumbria Police. They were looking for a way to combine their two passions in life and to challenge themselves a little bit more. When they heard that a fellow TGCR member, Rachel, was looking for ways to raise money towards running the London Marathon for Trauma Care, they jumped at the chance to help and will be running the North Tyneside 10k wearing their work body armour (approximately one stone in extra weight). Trauma Care aims to improve the outcomes of trauma victims by establishing best practice throughout the whole chain of care, from the moment of injury to return to active life. Trauma is something that Helen and Carly deal with in their working lives and that can affect anybody at any time, without warning. They are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to support Rachel in running a marathon and to support Trauma Care in helping victims of trauma in the UK.
