My Dad, David, was clever, gentle, wise and determined and will always be my hero. He loved life, was highly successful in business and in skiing, climbing Scottish mountains, golfing and in being the best Dad and husband. In 2018 age 88 he shinned up a 200ft tree to raise a flag for my daughters graduation. My Dad supported my love of horses, picked me up when I fell and quietly encouraged me to 'focus one fence at a time Claire'.
I want to race so that others who are dying and their families can receive the Macmillan service as we did. They brought light to our dark place. They listen, are honest, kind, responsive and always there when we need them. It is an honour to be part of a team of riders, sharing our journey, raising money for the inspirational Macmillan teams.
