Story
It consists of 5 stages, each averaging 22 miles (40kms) + one stage of 58 miles (95km) - the terrain will largely be sand with many sand dunes - The Sahara desert is hot and dry and temperature will reach as high as 50C/122F.
Despite many injuries, Ryan Watt and I will embark from 03/10 on this ultramarathon Sahara 2010 from the 4deserts.com series.
Our bags with tasty freeze-dried food and carb gels are ready, our legs are still strong and our feet still blister free. Some may ask "why" put ourselves through it and we simply cannot answer...you may want to ask us on our return as hours of solitary journey towards sweaty exhaustion might help us find out!
Why for now is to raise money for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust...because our journey will be nothing compared to those affected by that life-threatening inherited disease!
