KILIMANJARO CLIMB - not long to go and I feel ready for it...Just a few weeks to go now to raise my biggest charity amount ever -
£4,000 - HELP!! I have been training non stop to get ready for this and it's paying off... Popped over to Wales and climbed Snowdon twice on consecutive days last weekend - no problem! Shame we run out of time as we would have been happy just to keep going... Kili will be a bit different with the altitude, unfortunately you can't train for that. But I have got the Diamox!
As some
of you know, my mum is very ill and it has forced me to think about the
quality of the end of her life. I have realised what a difference it
makes if people are able to be at home with their loved ones when they
are terminally ill.
Marie Curie Nurses make a real difference to so many people. They come and help when the hope is gone and all you wish is just the opportunity to spend the last days together at home with your loved ones. When you speak to people who they have helped, they don't call them angels for nothing!
So, here I am getting ready for the incredible challenge of climbing
Mount Kilimanjaro for
Marie Curie. Every £100 I raise will pay for 5 hours of compassionate nursing care.
Any of
us may need and appreciate that support one day, so please dig deep and
donate now.
"Research commissioned by Marie Curie Cancer Care shows that 64 % of people would wish to die at home rather than go to hospital. In reality only 25 % achieve
this due to lack of funding. Marie Curie Nurses provide this service for free."Thanks for taking the time to visit my page and for donating generously. Your
kind donation and thoughts of the people we are helping WILL take me up that
mountain!!
I will keep you all posted of my endless hours of training and the climb itself.
:-)
With thanks,
Heli
