Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. Through the Foundation we are raising money for Brain Tumour Research Campaign (BTRC).
Annie and Dan cycling from John O'Groats to Land's End.
The London Hilton on Park Lane Sales Team have taken on an immense challenge to join them. We are going to cycle from Warrington to South Kidderminster in just two days totaling a grand 100 miles EACH to help and support them on their way.....
The training has begun and we need ALL our friends, family and colleagues to help us on our way to achieve our target of £2500 for this fantastic and worthy charity journey.
Why are we doing it.....
Not enough is known about malignant brain tumours, who is affected or why they occur.
They are the most common cause of cancer death in children under 15 years of age.
More men under 45 and women under 35 die from a brain tumour than any other cancer.
The incidence of brain tumours has increased by 30-40% in the past 30 years; that’s 2% per year
20% of all cancers now spread to the brain. Brain tumour research receives just over half a percent (0.7%) of cancer research spending in the UK.
Brain Tumour Research Campaign combines the skills of clinicians, academics and pathologists on both a local and global platform. Their laboratory is based at Charing Cross Hospital which is regarded as being an international centre of excellence for neuro-oncology. Patients will benefit from your support by having access to state of the art diagnostic and therapeutic facilities and the opportunity for improved quality and quantity of patient survival. So by supporting us this is your chance to make a difference.
