Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page
On the 17th Dec 2010, I will start my climb on Mt. Kilimanjaro the highest point on the African Continent at 5895m (19,340 feet, over 3.6 miles high); the largest free-standing mountain in the world and higher than Everest base camp. I will be joined by 4 friends and we will be following the Rongai route which involves 7 day trekking and camping on the mountain. Our penultimate day on the mountain is a 12hrs trek which starts past midnight by torchlight to reach Uhuru Peak (summit) as dawn breaks and then start our descent.
I am raising money for Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People. Rainbows is the East Midlands’ only hospice for children and young people, where life-limited children and their families can find care and support.
I am funding the whole trip myself, so 100% of your donations will go directly to Rainbows Charity and if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in Gift Aid will be added at no extra cost to you.
So please support me in my attempt and also to support my chosen charity by giving as much as you can.
Thank you and God bless.
