Fundraising for Action for Children

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I wanted to ask for your support again as I, along with 4 of my colleagues from Cisco, 90 IT professionals from Belfast, and IT professionals from across the UK and Ireland will be sleeping out under the stars at Byte Night on Friday the 2nd October 2015 to help raise money for Action for Children and raise awareness of youth homelessness.

On 2nd October, I will be saying goodbye to my loved ones, and giving up my home comforts to spend the night sleeping rough. Last year, with your help, I managed to raise £370 and spent much of the night sleeping in a huge puddle thanks to the Northern Irish weather! This year I hope to raise £500 and am hoping YOU would be kind enough to sponsor me.

Last year, in events held across the UK, Byte Night raised an amazing £1.1 million, with over 1300 people taking part.

By giving up my bed for one night, I’ll be helping young people like Hollie:

Hollie suffered physical and emotional abuse from her mum and was eventually thrown out of the house at 17, leaving her with nowhere to go. In desperation, she began living in a tent with her boyfriend until, after two months, she found help at Action for Children’s New Horizons project.

New Horizons provided Hollie with supported accommodation and helped her through emotional support and practical assistance. It also provided advice on securing and maintaining a tenancy, allowing Hollie to concentrate on building herself a brighter future.

All I need to reach my target is 100 people to sponsor me £5 each. I hope you can help and please also make sure to select the GiftAid box.
