We protect wildlife on land and at sea to help create a sustainable future.

Story

On Saturday 10 June Stephen Plummer and I will be attempting the 1000 Species Challenge.

Starting at midnight we will be visiting a number of locations, mostly in the west of the Isle of Wight, where we will record whatever species of wildlife, plants, lichen and fungi that we can confidently identify.

Our aim is to highlight the wonderful diversity of habitats on the Island, the incredible array of species that those habitats support and the importance of recording our wildlife. Citizen science can help provide information required to manage and protect those habitats and species.

At the same time we would like to raise some sponsorship money to support conservation causes on the Island and of course have some fun while we're at it.

About the charity

A leading nature conservation charity in the two counties. We protect local wildlife and inspire people to love nature through our beautiful nature reserves and programme of events. Our work is only made possible through the generosity of people like you who support us.
