Charity begins at home so I wanted to raise money for the UK National Zakat Foundation (NZF).

Thousands of people in the UK are suffering from job losses owing to Covid and it’s important we support those around us who need help. NZF has been receiving record numbers of applications from those in difficulty and anything donated will help NZF support more people more quickly and effectively.

Saw this and thought it would give a better idea of what might be coming for 100s if not 1000s of families soon.

For every £1 you give:

• 45p will go to help those in need of a Hardship Relief grant
• 36p to those in need of a Housing & Work grant
• 9p to those in need of an Education grant
• 10p will be used to cover the cost of making sure your money reaches those who really need it

The plan was to walk from my house to Marble Arch in central London and back in about 10 hours and cover roughly 26.2 miles or 42Km.

 The whole journey ended up taking just under 13 hours (walking for 11.5 hrs of that) and roughly 50Km or 31 miles which was a bit more then the group was expecting. 

Would be great if we can reach 100 people who can donate £1/mile or any amount would be great.

For those worried about costs and the cut Just Giving takes they gave the example that a £30 donation with £7.5 gift aid they take about £3. So if preferred you could do cash or a bank transfer. But with gift aid best to do it via here.
