Ollie and I are running the Southampton half marathon on the 24th of April in memory of our lovely very close family friend Lizzie who passed away last year. Lizzie spent time at the Piam Brown ward in Southampton which treats children with all types of cancer. All the money we fundraise will be given to the ward in order for them to be able to supply the extra things that the NHS doesn't. For example, games, DVD's and books for the children, as well as being able to provide things such a kitchen facilities and pull out beds for parents.

In October 2015 my beautiful daughter Lizzie died of cancer, aged 13. The amazing support from the dedicated staff at the Piam Brown ward at Southampton Hospital helped our family through this desperate time. I am walking the South Coast Challenge, in memory of Lizzie, with some of my fab friends who continue to walk alongside me on this journey.

The Piam Brown Regional Paediatric Oncology and Haematology Unit caters for children from a day old to 18 years. The multidisciplinary team provides treatment and support for children and their families. The money raised will continue to provide essential resources and equipment.

Training has started, and raising loads of dosh will spur us on, taking our minds off our broken toenails and hurty blisters!
