Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.. After the Birmingham Marathon 18’months ago I said never again. Then I was lucky enough to be offered a place on the team for VLM and how could I refuse?  RAFA supports  serving & ex- RAF personnel in many different ways; be-friending, helping retrieve  war pensions, and currently have a scheme whereby serving personnel can read a story and it is recorded for their child while they are on operations. As an ex RAF nurse  and now a Health Visitor in the NHS, I know the value of promoting attachment while parents and children are separated.  Running a marathon is tough & requires digging deep to find those inner resources, but not requiring as much bravery and strength as many RAF have had to find- when they find themselves homeless and penniless, often after serving selflessly for many years . That’s where the RAFA helps in so many ways.

Thankyou for sponsoring me.
