Thank you for visiting our JustGiving page. We ran the London Landmarks Half Marathon on Sunday, April 7, 2024 to raise money for the Scholarship Fund of the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM). The Fund supports students to study and learn at LSHTM by eliminating funding barriers, to help produce the next generation of global health stars, and together we ran a marathon (half each...) to help young people achieve their dreams!
LSHTM is one of the world's leading public health institutions (ranked 3rd of 500 globally) and brings together a hugely diverse group of learners and researchers from around the globe. Imogen has just started her PhD there, having gained her LSHTM MSc 30 years ago: "I love it, I'm back where I belong, and I'd love others to benefit from the unique experience of this world-leading public health institution," she says. Martin, of course, is in full agreement!
LSHTM was established over 100 years ago and is renowned internationally for its research and postgraduate education in global public health. Graduates of LSHTM go on to revolutionise global health and health equity. They work in over 190 countries worldwide - and notable alumni include the current Director-General of the World Health Organization, several former Nobel prize winners, as well as Health Ministers past and present.
Please join us and a group of other committed students, staff and donors to create opportunities for talented students from around the world, through the Scholarship Fund.
We've run several hundred miles (about 400) for the cause and a marathon together today (half each!). It’s been a challenge but also very rewarding.
