Story

🎤 Hey! I'm diving head-first into the mad world of stand-up comedy and giving myself eight weeks to transform into a 'professional' stand-up comedian – WHY? To raise money for charity!

Suppose you haven’t heard of PDA (Pathological Demand
Avoidance). In that case, it’s a widely misunderstood profile of autism, and the PDA Society is right at the frontline, providing invaluable resources and support to families affected. Their work is transformative, but they need our help.

Safer Sphere is raising money to support this charity as we have
a direct connection to PDA, just like everyone within the small team who runs it!

🎯 The Target: We’re aiming to raise £400 to reach our goal of £1000 by the end of the year!

You can watch me LIVE on the 12th of November, 2023, at Hangar 34, Liverpool.

Beyond the chuckles (or chuckling at my expense), we can change lives. So, how about sparing a few quid?

Donate and treat yourself to an evening of (attempted) humour!

PDA (Pathological Demand Avoidance) is widely understood to be a profile on the autism spectrum, involving the avoidance of everyday demands and the use of ‘social’ strategies as part of this. PDA individuals share autistic characteristics and also have many of the ‘key features’ of a PDA profile. We provide information, support and training about PDA for individuals, families and professionals. We aim to increase acceptance and understanding of a PDA profile and to improve outcomes for individuals and families by focusing everyone involved on ‘what helps’. Each year we answer around 2,300 enquiries from people seeking support and deliver training to 2,400 parents, carers and professionals. Our information resources reach 500,000 people a year via our website and social media. All our services are run by the PDA community and include: • an enquiry line • an online forum • information resources • training • conference every other year We also share good practice, work in partnership with other organisations and promote research on PDA.
