I am doing the southend 10k on the 6th of Oct as a personal challenge after having been seriously ill at this time last year. I started doing parkruns with my family 6 months after I was discharged from hospital in the hope it would help to improve my very poorly lungs and make them stronger.

 I have now completed 21 park runs and I am hoping to get to the end of my first 10k run. Its been an emotional rollercoaster and I plan to continue to increase my fitness and be able to climb the highest mountain in Ireland in June 2020.....watch this space.

I have decided to try to raise a little bit of money for a  charity close to the heart of my family who have helped and supported me through all of this.

The charity is Equal peoples performing arts. Me, my children and grandchildren are all supporters of this charity and they have performed and some still perform alongside these people with additional needs. The shows are emotional and amazing and its so wonderful to see these incredible people all performing together.

So there we have it a fantastic charity and me hoping to complete 10k to raise a little money and awareness for Equal Peoples Performimg arts.
