Story
Next Sunday, the 2nd August in Bolton, UK, I aming to complete an Iron Man triathlon. This involves a 2.4mile swim, 112 mile bike ride and a 26.2 mile run all with in a cut off time of 17 hours
I have chosen the Anaphylaxis campaign as a charity that is very close to my heart. As you all know I suffer from a very accute allergy to fish resulting in anaphylactic shock and more so recently becoming allergic to a number of anti inflammatories - (most triathletes staple diet) and antibiotic medicines (again resulting in anaphylaxis).
The money raised will go towards funding more research to understand more around anaphylaxis and also to help create more awareness around this life threatning allergy that is now becoming common. It will also help towards research to hopefully one day find a cure to actually prevent the allergic reaction occuring in the first place. The anaphylaxis campaign have been paramount in helping me cope with this allergy and how to lead as normal life as possible.
Even the smallest amount you donate with be fantastic and I thank you now so much for all of your support.
I hope to be reporting back in a few weeks on how i got on.
