Isabelle was diagnosed with a high grade brain tumour in January 22 and then followed a nine month battle of harrowing procedures and treatments. In August 22 they had the devastating news that the tumour had grown back and there was no further treatment.
The staff at Birmingham children’s hospital told them about Acorns hospice and this turned out to be a place they would grow to lean on and embrace.
Isabelle passed away on 9th September 2022 at Acorns hospice in Selly oak. They looked after the whole family, giving them a home for a week while they spent time with Isabelle in her final days.
The support from Acorns hasn’t stopped, they receive regular support from them and Sebastian, Isabelle's brother has the most incredible sibling worker, Jess, who they couldn’t be without. They regularly visit the memory garden and get family days out of courtesy of the charity.
The family are keen to raise money for this special charity to help other families in similar devastating situations.
