This is our fourth consecutive venture on behalf of the WaterAid charity and will be our most challenging to date as we attempt to reach the summit of the mighty Ben Nevis in Scotland.

Here are some facts about water poverty and what your donation will support:

There is currently a global crisis in water and sanitation. Billions of people live in the kind of squalor that was eradicated long ago in the rich world. Did you know that 884 million people don't have clean water and 40% of the world’s population suffer without a safe toilet, that’s 2.5 billion people. This crisis kills many and dramatically affects life in developing countries:

What your donation could buy:

 

£5 could pay for a bag of cement to build a latrine slab in Ghana
£15 can enable one person to access safe water, improved hygiene and sanitation

£25 could pay for a mason to protect a spring in Uganda

£50 is enough for two days of hygiene education training in a village in Tanzania
