We are Great Ormond Street Hospital Charity. We stop at nothing to help give seriously ill children childhoods that are fuller, funner and longer. Because we believe no childhood should be lost to illness.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On 10th August I aim to ride London, a 100 mile cycle starting at the Olympic Park, passing through London, over the infamous Hills of Surrey and back to the finish line on Pall Mall.

I am looking to raise a few pounds in the process for Great Ormond Street Hospital, and contribute to a memorial fund set up in memory of a friend, Nick Palmer who died recently.

Nick was a devoted Father, keen runner with the Southend Flyers and loyal Spurs fan.

On Sunday 8th June 2014, Nick was taking part in the Southend Half Marathon with his fellow Flyers runners, when he collapsed after the finish line. Sadly Nick passed away later that day.

He leaves a 5 year old son George, who in the precious years they had together received treatment from Great Ormond Street Hospital. Nick's family feel it would be right that a fund for them in  Nick's memory should be created, as a reminder to the bright shining light Nick has left with us and a fitting tribute to remember him.

Every donation helps Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity to provide the best facilities and equipment, research and develop new treatments, and support their remarkable patients and their families.
